Beavers Stymie Valley View, Take 3-0 Win

The Ballard Beavers got a strong performance from pitcher Larry Carver, who stymied the Valley View offense en route to a 3-0 win at Field of the Sunchasers. The winning pitcher was Carver, now 3-0. He tossed 7.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 7. Broderick Langmead notched his 7th save in 7 chances.
The game was on the line with two out in the top of the eighth inning, but Javier Martínez didn't flinch. With runners on 1st and 2nd and Valley View trailing 2-0, Martínez retired Keith Nash to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Martínez, with a wink.
The third-place Beavers have won 6 straight games.
