Molina Hurls No-Hitter
Greenport Harbor Whales starter Alfredo Molina said he was standing behind the mound when the scoreboard caught his eye, confirming what he already knew: He was one out from a no-hitter. For a couple of seconds, he didn't move.

"I took a breath and told myself 'This is the last one,'" Molina recalled.

The right-hander collected himself, got the final out, and finished one of the greatest performances of his career.

The Greenport right-hander no-hit the Capital Hill Interns 1-0 at Ballpark of Robbins, finishing with 2 walks and 14 strikeouts, facing only 29 batters.

"I knew for a while it was a no-hitter," Molina admitted later. "But I really didn't worry about it until the last out. I thought I just wanted to win the game, and then I realized I wanted the no-hitter, too."

Thus far this season Molina has posted a 6-0 record, started 7 games, struck out 80 batters in 49.2 innings and compiled a 2.36 ERA.
