The Twinsburg Tigers put together a convincing win at Montgomery Riverwalk Stadium, defeating the Montgomery Biscuits, 11-3. Alohinani Puanani was one of the hitting stars. He went 3 for 5 with 3 singles and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for Twinsburg. The winner was Twinsburg reliever Saadat Eristov, now 8-2. The loser was Richard Surgener. Shoichi Iwata picked up the save, his 2nd.
The result might have been different for Twinsburg, had it not been for Jai-guo Tian, the 20-year old center fielder . Tian stroked a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh inning to put Twinsburg up, 4-3. For the game, he had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"The name of the game is scoring runs," Puanani said. "We did a good job of that today."
Twinsburg leads the Silver R by 4 games.
