Montgomery right-hander Kevin Hamm helped his team edge Twinsburg by the score of 3-2. Hamm kept the opposing lineup in check. Hamm, now 7-7, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 7, walking 0, and allowing 1 earned run. Richard Tipton earned the save for Montgomery, his 9th of the year.
Guan-xiu Long had a big run-scoring single for the Biscuits in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Montgomery leading 2-0 and a runner on 3rd, he got a changeup from Leonardo Sánchez and stroked the single to right-center. It was his 94th hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Biscuits ahead, 3-0.
"I really like what we did out there today," Hamm said after the game.
With the win, the Biscuits improved to 43-46.
