Beavers Solve Submarinos, 6-2

The Northwest Territory Beavers downed the Amarillo Submarinos, 6-2, at Beaver Town. The Beavers were led by Héctor Solís, who captured player of the game honors. He went 4 for 4 with a triple, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 2 times. Josh Gentry picked up the win with 6.2 innings of work. He allowed no earned runs on 5 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 1. On the season, he is now 1-0. With the loss, Amarillo falls to 8-7.
Bill Knight had a big 2-run double for the Beavers in the bottom of the second inning. With Northwest Territory leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a slider from Ron Blackshaw and stroked the double to center. It was his 5th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Beavers ahead, 3-0.
"We take it day by day here," said Solís, "and today was a good one for us."
