Northern Lions BC Pull Back to .500 With Win Over Dirty Reds
|
San Mateo designated hitter Tae-cho Han had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Han went 2-5 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once, even as Thunder Bay beat the Dirty Reds, 7-5. Han was named the player of the game despite the loss. The win was Mannus Dijkman's in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Tobías Pérez took the loss for San Mateo. Santiago Pérez was credited with the save for Thunder Bay, his 4th of the season.
Thunder Bay relied on the hitting of Gilberto Ocasio to pick up the win. The right fielder clubbed a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Northern Lions BC on top, 6-5. For the game, Ocasio had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"We take it day by day here," said Ocasio, "and today was a good one for us."
Thunder Bay bumps their record to 19-19 with the win.
