Warheads Get Road Win, 6-1
|
Amarillo pitcher Luis Bongers did his part in helping his team beat the Montgomery Biscuits, 6-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Bongers got the win, improving to 4-5. He allowed 3 hits and walked 1 over 6 innings. Bongers allowed 1 earned run. Jack Geake got the save, the 3rd for him this season.
In the top of the third, with Amarillo leading 1-0, left fielder Jim McCourtney hit a run-scoring single. The hit came off Orinosuke Oshiro and put the Warheads ahead, 2-0.
"We looked pretty good up and down," said Amarillo manager Javier Trujillo.
The losing streak for Montgomery has now reached 4 games.
