Franklin starter Ricardo Méndez pitched effectively against the Twinsburg Tigers at Dodge Field. The left-hander led his team to a 2-1 win. Ludwig Krassnig was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 4 of 5 save opportunities. Franklin goes to 46-33, Twinsburg to 51-28.
It could have been a different outcome for Franklin, had it not been for Felipe Tovar, the 20-year old shortstop . Tovar contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the eighth inning to put Franklin up, 2-1.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Franklin manager Mark Davis.
