The Valley View Cougars overcame a good performance by Amarillo designated hitter Mark Green to knock off Amarillo, 11-4, at Ballpark of Henderson. Green was 3-4 with a triple, a double, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Carlos Oilvares was the winning pitcher. It could have been a different outcome for Valley View, had it not been for Miguel Rodríguez, the 18-year old center fielder . Rodríguez contributed a run-scoring hit-by-pitch in the top of the third inning to put Valley View up, 1-0.
