Biscuits Clip Octopi in Tight Contest

Ogallala got a terrific performance from second baseman Haechan Mae, but it wasn't enough to beat the Montgomery Biscuits. Montgomery won the Nebraska Aquarium contest, 7-6. Mae was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Montgomery reliever Hugh Hudson was credited with the win, to go to 2-1. Alfredo Morales took the loss for Ogallala. Richard Tipton earned the save for Montgomery, his 5th of the year.
Henry Kent's hit in the top of the ninth was a game-changer. With two out, he rapped a fastball from Alfredo Morales for a run-scoring single. It put Montgomery in front, 7-6.
"It wasn't a pretty victory," said Kent, "but we got it done."
The Biscuits are now 34-37, while the Octopi fall to 30-41.
