Tight Tilt Goes to Cougars, 2-1

The Valley View Cougars picked up a win at Montgomery Riverwalk Stadium, knocking off the Montgomery Biscuits, 2-1. On the mound for Valley View was left-hander Walter Nash, who played a pivotal role in the win. The third-place Cougars raised their record to 41-27.
The outcome might have been different for Valley View, had it not been for Ryan Dodson, the 19-year old center fielder . Dodson stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put Valley View up, 2-1. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.
"We squandered some opportunities," said Montgomery manager Félix Cruz.
