Yi Powers Baby Blues to 6-4 Win
|
Behind a solid performance from center fielder Neung-uk Yi, the Quebec City Baby Blues defeated the Ellesmere Island Snowpeople, 6-4. Yi was 3-4 with a home run and a triple, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2 for the Baby Blues. Domingo Jones picked up the save for Quebec City, his 8th of the year. The 5th-place Baby Blues improved to 29-26.
Had Steve Turner not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Turner hit a 2-run triple. That made the score 6-4, in favor of the Baby Blues.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Quebec City manager Tony Romero.
