Coppens, Cougars Clobber Biscuits

A 3-RBI performance from Mannus Coppens helped the Valley View Cougars beat the Montgomery Biscuits, 10-1. Carlos Oilvares, the winner, improved to 9-2. He held Montgomery to 1 earned run on 5 hits over 8.2 innings, while racking up 8 strikeouts. Valley View is now riding a 3-game win streak.
Coppens made an early impact for Valley View when he stroked his 1st home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which came in the top of the second, put the Cougars on top, 3-0.
"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Coppens told the Valley View News.
