Franklin beat Quebec City at Lawmen Ballpark, eking out a 2-1 win. The win was due in large part to pitcher Pedro Rodríguez, who earned player of the game honors. The Fire go to 31-22, putting them 4th in the Silver R.

Rodríguez, the winner, is now 8-1. In 7.1 innings of work, he gave up 1 earned run on 3 hits, while collecting 10 Ks. He essentially shut down the Quebec City offense.

Afterward, Fire manager Mark Davis was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
