The Valley View Cougars turned back the Quebec City Baby Blues, 5-4, at Dylan Park. Steve Wheeler was named player of the game for his fine performance. He was 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Ron Plummer got the save, the 2nd for him this season. The second-place Cougars have won 8 in a row.
Walt Reed helped out the Valley View cause in the top of the fourth inning with a run-scoring double. For the game, the right fielder went 2 for 4 with a double.
"We've got a great group of guys," Reed said, "and we're having fun right now."
