Tigers Come Back Late to Top Beavers
|
The Ballard Beavers got a superb performance from pitcher Bill Zimmerman, but the Twinsburg Tigers still won the game, 3-2. Zimmerman was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 6 innings of shutout ball. Twinsburg reliever Raúl Nieves picked up the win, bumping his record to 4-3. Bernd Elders was collared with the loss. Twinsburg is now 33-13, 3 games up in the Silver R.
Jesús Muńíz had the critical at-bat for Twinsburg. With one out in the bottom of the ninth inning, he hit a sacrifice fly. It gave Twinsburg the 3-2 walk-off win.
"I like our moxie," said Tigers manager Morton Kelly.
