Loss Extends Moose Jaw Losing Streak
|
The Montgomery Biscuits took Moose Jaw pitcher Qing-lai Hoong's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Montgomery Riverwalk Stadium. The final score had Montgomery getting past the Canucks, 3-0. Hoong went 5.2 innings and allowed 2 earned runs, striking out 5. The win was credited to Hugh Hudson in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Qing-lai Hoong took the loss. Carroll Woodard picked up the save for Montgomery, his 7th of the year.
The Biscuits got a big at-bat from second baseman Raúl Yánez. For the game, Yánez went 1 for 4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 3rd double of the season gave Montgomery a 2-0 lead.
"I like the roll we're on," said Montgomery manager Félix Cruz.
With the win, Montgomery elevates its record to 9-9.
