The Valley View Cougars did just enough to secure a 3-2 victory over the Ellesmere Island Snowpeople at Hillandale Grounds. Nobody did more than pitcher Rémy Moreau, who captured player of the game honors. Valley View is off to a hot start at 12-5.

The Cougars were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth when first baseman Harley Lambert turned a 1-1 changeup from Will Smiley into a 2-run home run. The walk-off home run sent a roar through the crowd and gave Valley View a thrilling 3-2 win.

"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said Valley View manager Francisco Villanueva.
