Snowpeople Drop Another One
|
The Igloo was the site for USSL Rookie action featuring the Ellesmere Island Snowpeople and Franklin Fire.
The Franklin Fire knocked off the Ellesmere Island Snowpeople, 14-4, at The Igloo. Ludwig Krassnig, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Franklin won. The catcher was 3 for 5 with 3 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Franklin, now 10-2, is playing great baseball to start the year.
It could have been a different outcome for Franklin, had it not been for Mauro DelPiero, the 20-year old center fielder . DelPiero contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the fifth inning to put Franklin up, 6-4.
"Been a rough stretch for us," said Ellesmere Island manager Hartmann Riedman.
