The Franklin Fire and Amarillo Warheads played a tight game at Lawmen Ballpark, with the hosts claiming the hard-fought win.

Franklin right-hander Dave Miller helped his team edge Amarillo by the score of 3-2. Miller kept the opposing lineup in check. Miller went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 1, and struck out 5. His record improves to 1-0.

In the bottom of the 6th, catcher Randy Baker gave Franklin the lead when he hit a 2-run single. The Fire had been trailing 2-1, but the two-out single off Amarillo pitcher Yoichi Amano changed that -- and Franklin went on to win.

"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Baker.

The Fire, now 2-0, have been on a roll in the early going.
