The Crowley Cajuns picked up a win at Titans Ballpark, knocking off the Memphis Music, 2-1. Starting pitcher Ron Francis played a key role in the triumph. Francis, now 1-11, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 7, walking 0, and allowing 1 earned run. Lorenzo Ramos was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 16 of 18 save opportunities.
The Cajuns got a big at-bat from center fielder Sam Wells. For the game, Wells was 1 for 3 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 26th double of the season gave Crowley a 2-1 lead.
"There's still time to turn this season around," said Francis.
