Hicksville pitcher Mike Hopkins did his part in helping his team beat the Crowley Cajuns, 3-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Jimmy Young notched his 5th save in 6 chances. Hicksville now sits in third place in the Premier R at 45-32.
Adam Black made an early impact for Hicksville when he stroked his 80th hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which came with one out in the bottom of the second, put the Hounds on top, 3-0.
"I really like what we did out there today," Hopkins said after the game.
