|
The San Mateo Dirty Reds trumped the Buckhead Bowties, 6-1, at Lang Park. San Mateo first baseman Zahid Kashani was named player of the game for his performance. He went 4 for 4 with a home run, 2 doubles, and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. The slumping Bowties have lost 8 straight.
San Mateo took advantage of an error in the bottom of the fifth inning. The game was tied, 1-1, when Paul Tate hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put San Mateo in front, 2-1.
"It's always nice to be on the winning side," Tate told the San Mateo Times. "But we take nothing for granted."
