Qing 3-3 to Pull Northern Lions BC to .500
|
The Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC topped the Cleveland Browns by the score of 9-4, with the biggest share of the credit going to left fielder An-te-hai Qing. Qing went 3-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Northern Lions BC on the day. The winner was Thunder Bay reliever Miguel Rodríguez, now 3-1. The loser was Tom Holloway. Thunder Bay is now 13-13, Cleveland 19-7.
The game was at a stalemate until second baseman Curf Pierstisnips came to bat in the top of the ninth. Facing Cleveland pitcher Mac Hippenhammer, he hit a 2-2 fastball for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting Thunder Bay on top, 6-4.
Pierstisnips told a Thunder Bay Observer reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
