Surprise beat Fort Knox on the strength of starter Jim Murray's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a 6-2 win. Surprise is now 26-34, Fort Knox 33-27.

Surprise used the timely hitting of George Lewis to capture the win. The center fielder stroked a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Shockers on top, 3-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.

In postgame comments to the Surprise Today, Murray said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
