Nashville Bats Go Silent in 3-0 Loss
|
Ron Fernández never let the Outlaws get in a groove. The left-hander used his bread and butter, his fastball, to pitch the BC to a 3-0 win. Fernández, the winner, moves to 1-1. He threw 5.2 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 3 and giving up 4 walks. Pedro Huerta finished to wrap up his 2nd save.
Philadelphia 1776 used the timely hitting of Yoshitaka Yoshida to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the BC on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Fernández.
Their 7-18 record puts the BC last in the Silver League.
