Dirty Reds Clip Grey Wolves, 2-1

The San Mateo Dirty Reds did just enough to secure a 2-1 victory over the Vancouver Grey Wolves at Lang Park. Nobody did more than pitcher Michael Machen, who captured player of the game honors. The Dirty Reds raised their record to 14-10.
With runs few and far between, the Dirty Reds had to seize their opportunities when they came. One of the most important chances for San Mateo came in the bottom of the third inning, when right fielder Tom Burton delivered a run-scoring single. The single was hit off Enrique Valle and made the score 2-0, Dirty Reds. Burton went 1-3 with a walk.
"I like our moxie," said Dirty Reds manager Dean Ashley.
