Surprise designated hitter Steve Colyer was instrumental in his team's 5-4 win over the Redwood Rhinos. Colyer went 3-4 with no runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Shockers. The save went to Gabriel García, his 2nd this season. With the win, the Shockers have a record of 21-28.

Colyer contributed a big hit, a bases-clearing double, for Surprise in the bottom of the third. With his team trailing 3-1, Colyer took a fastball from Xin-fang Zha and stroked the double to left. His 2nd double of the season allowed the Shockers to leap in front, 4-3.

"We need to keep playing good baseball," Colyer told the Surprise Today.
