Ducks Score Late, Upend Hounds, 2-1
|
Long Island overcame a superlative game from Boryenka Pospehov to beat Hicksville, 2-1. The Hicksville pitcher took player of the game honors in a losing cause. He threw 8 innings of shutout ball. Long Island reliever Emilio Zatori picked up the win to move to 3-2. Tyler Budge suffered the loss. The Ducks improve their record to 28-20 with the win over Hicksville.
Alexandre Prost was the walk-off hero for Long Island. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Ducks center fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"We came out on the wrong end of this one," said Hicksville skipper Wilber Moon.
