The Hicksville Hounds topped the Tulsa Otters, 7-5, with center fielder Erik Weinstein playing a big role. Weinstein went 3-4 with a double and 2 singles. He scored 4 runs for the Hounds in the win. The winner was Jimmy Young in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Peter Bradley took the loss. The 4th-place Hounds now have a win-loss record of 24-20.
Hicksville used the timely hitting of Pedro Gonzáles to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the fifth inning to put the Hounds on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I like our moxie," said Hounds manager Wilber Moon.
