Buckhead right fielder Walke Mehoff had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Mehoff went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once, even as Thunder Bay beat the Bowties, 6-5. Mehoff was named the player of the game despite the loss. Santiago Pérez earned his 3rd save in 4 tries. Buckhead, at 10-13, has lost 5 straight.
Gilberto Ocasio's hit in the top of the ninth was a game-changer. With one out, he rapped a fastball from Roderick Miller for a run-scoring single. It put Thunder Bay in front, 6-5.
"I felt good up there," said Ocasio. "I saw the ball well."
