Ducks Top Shockers in Extras
|
The Ducks grabbed a win, 4-3, at ïAbbots Ballpark, overcoming a fine effort from Surprise pitcher Jim Murray. Murray went 5 innings and allowed no earned runs. Long Island reliever Álex Flores picked up the win to move to 1-1. Petr Elfimov suffered the loss. The first-place Ducks have a one-game lead in their division.
Long Island used the clutch hitting of Bilal Hussain to capture the win. The right fielder drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the tenth inning to give the Ducks the lead, 4-3. For the game, Hussain had 1 single and 1 double in 5 at-bats.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Surprise manager said following the tough loss.
