Fans who gathered at ïAbbots Ballpark saw a good contest between the Fort Knox Centennial and Surprise Shockers.

Fort Knox beat Surprise on the strength of starter Mark Finley's fine effort. The left-hander led his team to a 5-3 win. The win moves Fort Knox to a record of 11-8.

Fort Knox used the timely hitting of Pablo Peñaranda to capture the win. The third baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Centennial ahead, 5-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was an important one.

"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Peñaranda said.
