The Redwood Rhinos topped the Fort Knox Centennial, 7-4, with youngster Alfonso Pereyra playing a key role. Pereyra was 4 for 5 with 4 singles for the Rhinos in the win. The Centennial, now 9-7, continue their sluggish start.

A critical at-bat came in the top of the eighth inning when the Rhinos sent 19-year-old third baseman Dave Richards to the plate with the bases loaded. The youngster shook off the pressure and reached on an error by the 1B, driving in 1 run, to put Redwood on top, 5-3.

"We'll just keep our nose to the grindstone," Richards told the Redwood Observer.
