Rhinos Get Win, Hope to Turn Around Slow Start
|
The Tulsa Otters got a sterling performance from pitcher Sean Jones, but the Rhinos still prevailed, 4-1. Jones was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He came in in relief and pitched to 21 batters . Redwood reliever Christopher Benson picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Tomás Ramírez took the loss. Earning his 1st save of the year was Emery Manhoran.
Redwood used the timely hitting of Adrián Serrano to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the third inning to put the Rhinos on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We missed opportunities once again," said losing manager Bill Callahan.
Tulsa, at 1-12, has had a dismal start to the season.
