Loss Extends Surprise Losing Streak

Hicksville got an elite performance from starting pitcher Bob Larsen in taking a 5-1 decision over the Surprise Shockers. The Hounds, now 4-2, have been playing some good baseball.
With runs few and far between, the Hounds had to seize their opportunities when they came. One of the most important chances for Hicksville came in the top of the fifth inning, when left fielder Michael Cherry delivered a 2-run single. The single was hit off Coyote Peterson and made the score 3-1, Hounds. Cherry was 3-4 with 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Cherry said after the game.
