Lead Sox Get One-Run Win at Surprise
Indiana third baseman Ralph Titus played a vital role in his team's 8-7 triumph over Surprise. He went 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 3 runs for Indiana. Robert Young, the winner, improved to 1-0. He held the Shockers to 3 earned runs on 5 hits over 6.2 innings, while striking out 6 and walking 2. Jesús Crisotomo earned the save, his 1st, for the Lead Sox.

Indiana used the timely hitting of Junji Matsui to seize the win. The catcher stroked a 2-run single in the top of the sixth inning to put the Lead Sox on top, 5-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We maximized our offense today," said Indiana skipper Marshall Edwards. "That makes everyone's life easier."

With the win, Indiana goes to 3-0.
