Hot Start Continues for Browns
|
Cleveland and Philadelphia 1776 got after it at Ben Franklin Memorial Coliseum.
The Cleveland Browns racked up a win at Ben Franklin Memorial Coliseum, bumping off the Philadelphia 1776 BC, 7-3. Eric Matson, who started for Cleveland, pitched effectively for his team. Matson picked up the win for Cleveland, going 7 innings. He gave up 1 run on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 3-0.
The Browns grabbed the lead in the top of the first. With one out, Danny Rodríguez, who is tied for 7th in the SL in triples with 1, hit a 3-run home run off Kent Horton, putting Cleveland in front, 4-0. For Rodríguez, it was his 2nd home run of the season.
"If we keep hitting the ball well, the wins will pile up," said Cleveland skipper Greg Diersing.
The BC, now 5-13, continue their poor start.
