Arryns Turn Back Guzzlers, 6-4
|
The Lake Erie Arryns dealt the Galesburg Guzzlers a 6-4 loss at Arryns Ballpark. Paul Wood was the star on offense. He went 3-3 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Armando González earned the win to go to 7-7. He allowed 4 earned runs on 9 hits, with 1 walk and 5 strikeouts. Aleksandr Lovenetsky notched his 15th save in 19 chances.
Lake Erie grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the fifth, when Wood, who is tied for 4th in the PA in stolen bases with 13, hit a 2-run single. His 54th hit of the season put the Arryns out in front, 5-4.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Wood. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
Lake Erie, at 35-49, occupies 8th place in the Premier A.
