In baseball, each game is unique. This one was no different.
Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Félix Linaza, the Galesburg Guzzlers defeated the South Beach Blaze, 8-3. Linaza went 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Guzzlers. Georges Cormier got the win, improving to 3-2. He worked 5 innings, giving up 3 runs on 3 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 1.
Galesburg used the clutch hitting of Yasukazu Yano to capture the win. The second baseman drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the third inning to give the Guzzlers the lead, 3-2. For the game, Yano had 1 single and 1 double in 5 at-bats.
"Hustle and hard work is a big part of our success," said Linaza. "Those qualities define our team."
The Guzzlers saw their record improve to 28-48.
