Kingston Mangos starter Rafael Martínez turned in a top-notch performance against the Eugene Vandals at The Riot Zone. The result was a win for the Mangos, 5-2. Eugene, at 19-45, has lost 4 straight.
Kingston relied on the bat of Bob Byrd to get the win. The center fielder ripped a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Mangos ahead, 3-0. For the game, Byrd had 1 double and 1 triple in 4 at-bats.
"This is a great group to be a part of, and it's a big win for us," Byrd told the Kingston Chronicle.
