Mangos Raise Rally Flag, Beat Myrtle Beach, 5-3

The Kingston Mangos faced a tough opponent in Myrtle Beach pitcher Wynn Kelley, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Seahwaks Stadium by a final score of 5-3. Kelley went 6 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Rafael Martínez got the win, improving to 2-2. He pitched 8 innings, giving up 6 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 2. The Mangos bumped their record to 32-25 with this latest triumph.
Kingston used the timely hitting of Rusty Heath to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Mangos on top, 5-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"We won," Heath told assembled media after the game. "I guess that's all that really matters."
