Arryns Fall to Vibes, 7-3
|
Getting a good performance from catcher Uoti Vaijärvi, the Rocky Mountain Vibes defeated the Lake Erie Arryns, 7-3. Vaijärvi was 2 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Vibes. Rocky Mountain reliever Raúl Villegas picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Don Murray took the loss. Rocky Mountain is 5th in the Premier A with a record of 27-29.
Rocky Mountain used the timely hitting of David Mooney to capture the win. The shortstop socked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Vibes ahead, 3-0. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was an important one.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Rocky Mountain manager Brooks Dempsey.
