The Buckhead Bowties racked up a win at Oakland Coliseum, bumping off the Oakland Oaks, 5-2. Gilberto Medina, who started for Buckhead, pitched effectively for his team. Medina, the winner, moves to 1-0. He threw 8 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 4 walks. Roderick Miller closed the game out for Buckhead, earning his 3rd save.

In the top of the first, Spencer Powell pounced on a changeup from Elroy Quaid and hit a 2-run single. It gave Buckhead a quick 2-0 lead.

"I'm not out there for personal accomplishments," Medina told a Buckhead Bulletin reporter after the game. "I'm out there to help the team win, and that's what we did today."

The loss drops Oakland to 8-6.
