Seahawks Pull Off Thrilling Win in Extras
|
The Seahawks faced a stiff challenge from South Beach pitcher Ming Zhai, but persevered to claim a win at The Ballpark on the Beach. The final score was 4-2. Zhai went 6 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Myrtle Beach reliever Annamaya Rakhi picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. José Gómez absorbed the loss. Myrtle Beach now sits in third place in the Premier A at 18-13.
The game was at a stalemate until second baseman José Salas came to bat in the top of the tenth. Facing South Beach pitcher Jong-beom Kung, he hit a 1-1 cutter for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting Myrtle Beach on top, 4-2.
"We did enough to win," said Salas.
