Seahawks Win in Glorious Fashion
|
The Myrtle Beach Seahawks took Chicago pitcher Armando Sosa's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Seahwaks Stadium. The final score had Myrtle Beach getting past the Gold Sox, 4-3. Sosa went 8 innings and allowed 2 earned runs, striking out 7. Basem Al-Saodi, credited with the win, is now 1-0. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2.2 innings. The third-place Seahawks have won 8 straight.
Cristo Lucas was the walk-off hero for Myrtle Beach. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Seahawks catcher hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Chicago manager Allen Evans. "But we decided not to take it."
