Guzzlers Rally For Late Win Over Gold Sox
|
Galesburg and Chicago met at Little Gold Sox Park in front of a lively crowd.
Chicago pitcher Mike Lee gave the Guzzlers all they could handle, but in the end, Galesburg left Little Gold Sox Park with a 5-1 win. Lee allowed no earned runs on 5 hits over 7 innings. Vasquo Lousada earned his 1st save in 1 tries.
Galesburg used the timely hitting of Shi-xian Zhào to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Guzzlers on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I've been criticized for being a slacker, but the one thing I do care about is winning," Zhào told the Galesburg Gazette.
Galesburg, at 9-17, occupies last place in the Premier A.
