Victory Pushes Blaze Record to 16-8
|
The South Beach Blaze picked up a win at Bellevue Field, knocking off the Rocky Mountain Vibes, 8-5. Starting pitcher Jing-xiang Lingxin, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. In 7.1 innings, Lingxin surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 10 and walking 0. He allowed 4 runs. Phil Day earned the save for South Beach, his 1st of the year.
The Blaze got a gift in the top of the third inning, when they were leading 3-1. With two out and the bases loaded, Hugues Bellot reached on an error by the SS, driving in 1 run. It made the score 4-1, South Beach.
"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Lingxin.
The first-place Blaze have a one-game lead in their division.
