Arryns Drop Mangos with Late Score
|
The Lake Erie Arryns racked up a win at Arryns Ballpark, bumping off the Kingston Mangos, 2-1. John Fleming, who started for Lake Erie, pitched effectively for his team. The win was credited to Tian-bai Hou in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Yeijiro Inoue took the loss. Jérôme Vignon earned the save for Lake Erie, his 2nd of the year.
One important at-bat came with a runner on 1st in the bottom of the eighth inning. Facing Kingston hurler Yeijiro Inoue, Aloysius Szymanski, who is tied for 7th in the PA in RBI with 9, hit a double. The Arryns went on to win.
"Both teams played hard," said Lake Erie manager António Pineda.
The Mangos fall to 6-9 and continue their uninspiring start to the 2040 season.
