The Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC powered past the Mississippi Mockingbirds, 9-1, at Magnolia Park. Gilberto Ocasio went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice, to lead the charge. The Mockingbirds, now 7-4, have been pitiful so far.
Ocasio came through with some timely hitting for Thunder Bay. With the score 1-1 in the top of the fourth and one down, Ocasio hit a 1-1 fastball for a 2-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season made it 3-1, Thunder Bay.
"Enjoyed this one," Ocasio told the Thunder Bay Observer. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
